  • Crafted from our DreamStretch™ Bamboo fabric, these pajamas are buttery soft, light, breathable, and help keep your little one cozy when it’s cool and fresh when it’s warm.

What is a TOG rating?

Finding the right TOG rating and dressing your baby appropriately for the temperature can be confusing. Every baby feels hot and cold differently, ambient temperatures fluctuate, and layering impacts thermal effectiveness. It's not a one-size-fits-all approach, but understanding these factors can help.

At Love to Dream we use the industry-recognised measurement system, called TOG. TOG stands for Thermal Overall Grade and helps simplify the process of choosing the right garment/s for your baby. Put simply: The lower the TOG rating, the lighter the fabric. The higher the TOG rating, the warmer the fabric.

  • Products with a 0.2 TOG Rating are ideal for Room Temperatures between 75-81°F.
  • Products with a 1.0 TOG Rating are ideal for Room Temperatures between 68-75°F.
  • Products with a 1.5 TOG Rating are ideal for Room Temperatures between 64-72°F.
  • Products with a 2.5 TOG Rating are ideal for Room Temperatures between 61-68°F.
  • Products with a 3.5 TOG Rating are ideal for Room Temperatures below 61°F.

The number of clothing layers may vary according to a baby’s health, their physiology, and the room temperature in the room. The caregiver must determine what is suitable. We recommend that carers always monitor the temperature of the room & the child’s comfort. It is important to check your baby regularly to ensure that they are comfortable and that they do not overheat.
