How do I choose the right product for my child?
Finding the perfect product for your child is a simple 4 step process: 1. To select the right sleep garment for your child, identify their developmental stage first. Is your baby still in the newborn swaddling stage? Select one of our Swaddle Up™ products. Has your child shown signs of trying to roll over, then choose one of our Transition Bags/Suits. If your child is already mobile and on the move then our Sleep Bags and Sleep Suits are right for you. 2. Once you’ve determined the right developmental stage, you need to determine the room temperature of the room your child sleeps in. Based on that temperature you can choose the right TOG and fabric grade. 3. Select from a number of fabrics, prints, colours. 4. Choose your child’s size.
How do I know if s a TOG is the right option for my baby’s room temperature?
TOG (Thermal Overall Grade) tells you exactly how warm a sleep garment will keep your baby: the higher the number, the warmer the garment. Use 0.2 TOG for rooms 75–81°F, 1.0 TOG for 70–75°F, and 2.5 TOG for 64–70°F. Keep a thermometer in your baby's room to take the guesswork out of TOG selection every night.
What should my baby wear underneath based on the TOG and room temperature?
Layer based on room temperature: in warm rooms (75°F+), a short-sleeve onesie under a 0.2 TOG is sufficient. In cooler rooms (64–70°F), add a long-sleeve bodysuit under a 1.0 or 2.5 TOG. Always check your baby's chest or back (not hands or feet) to gauge warmth. If it feels clammy or hot, remove a layer.
When should I choose a the 3-stage sleep system?
The Love to Dream™ 3-stage sleep system takes your baby from birth to 4 years with products designed for each sleep phase: Stage 1 (Swaddle Up™, 0–3 months), Stage 2 (Transition Bags/Suits, 3–12 months), and Stage 3 (Sleep Bags/Suits, 6 months–4 years). Choose your stage based on your baby's age and whether they're showing signs of rolling. Safety drives the transition, not a fixed date.
When should I choose a Stage 1?
Stage 1 is designed for newborns aged 0–3 months who benefit from secure swaddling to calm the startle reflex. The Swaddle Up™ lets babies sleep in a natural Arms Up™ position, with hands near their face for self-soothing and no loose blankets in the crib. If your baby is under 3 months and not yet rolling, Stage 1 is the right place to start.
When should I choose a Stage 2?
Stage 2 is for babies aged 3–6 months who are beginning to roll and need their arms free. The Swaddle Up™ Transition Bag has zip-off wings so you can gradually free one arm, then both, making the move away from swaddling gradual and less disruptive to sleep. Start transitioning as soon as your baby shows the first signs of rolling, regardless of age.
