To begin with, tell us a little more about who you are, where you're from and the age of your little one(s)?
My name is Rebecca Glynn, my son, Leo, is now 8 weeks old and we are from Brisbane.
What were your very first thoughts after your baby was born?
I was just amazed that he was here. Everything felt surreal. We'd waited so long for our beautiful boy to arrive and suddenly he was in our arms. It was amazing. I think everything faded out of focus except for our little man.
Did you settle quickly into a routine with your baby? If so, do you think it worked well for you?
We didn't settle into a routine very quickly. Sleeping was a struggle as Leo didn't enjoy being swaddled but needed to feel secure to settle. We also demand fed, so we were led by what Leo needed.
How soon after your baby was born did you begin to swaddle your baby?
We began swaddling Leo the night he was born.
How did you come to know about Love To Dream™?
We learnt about Love to Dream when my sister lent me one she had from her little boy.
Do you feel like using the Love To Dream™ range of products has made a positive impact on you and your baby's sleep?
The sleeping bag has had a very positive impact on Leo's sleep. Leo was able to escape from every swaddle so he'd wake up when he startled. The Love to Dream sleeping bag has allowed Leo to feel secure, has reduced the impact of his startle reflex and has allowed him to have longer and seemingly more restful sleep.
What is the one thing you wish you'd known before you became a parent?
I wish I'd known just how unpredictable life with a baby is. People told me that life would be dictated by the needs of the baby, but I didn't really realise how much that would be true until he was here!
Three words to describe life before parenthood and three to describe life post-parenthood?
Before: choice, spontaneous, waiting.
After: feeding, besotted, overwhelming-love.
What is the one piece of advice you'd like to offer new parents or parents-to-be?
The overwhelming love you feel for your baby will help you get through the difficult moments. The smiles and giggles from your little one will melt your heart and make every day so precious and amazing. Enjoy losing time from just looking at your baby, enjoying them.
What are the top 5 essential items every new parent should have ready to go when baby arrives?
More than one Love to Dream bag, a good nappy bag with lots of space, a bassinet you can move to allow you to watch the baby sleep outside of the room, a car seat that clicks into the pram, support from family and friends.
