Tell us a little about who you are...where you're from and the age of your little one(s).
I am originally from Canada, and met my husband while he was traveling through Vancouver. We have lived throughout the United States as my husband was in the USAF. We happily reside just outside of New York City with our 18 month old daughter and dog. As a family, we enjoy traveling, spending time outdoors, and Friday night dance parties.
What were your very first thoughts after your baby was born?
I couldn’t believe we created such a perfect little human.
Did you settle quickly into a routine with your baby? If so, do you think it worked well for you?
We were able to settle into a routine rather quickly. Communication is what worked for my husband and I. We were always on the same page, even if we didn’t always agree- We had to communicate and compromise.
How soon after birth did you begin to swaddle your baby?
We began to swaddle immediately after birth.
How did you hear about LOVE TO DREAM™?
A friend who had a child a few months before we had our daughter highly recommended Love To Dream To us. We definitely owe them- I don’t think we would have gotten as much sleep as we have without Love To Dream!
Has using the LOVE TO DREAM™ range of products made a positive impact on you and your baby's sleep?
While on vacation, I once forgot to pack our LOVE TO DREAM™ swaddle; so we picked up a different swaddle at the store to use for our trip. Let’s just say I always pack LOVE TO DREAM™ first now.
What is the one thing you wish you'd known before you became a parent?
Trust your instincts, and you don’t have to do everything on your own- it’s okay to ask for help, family and friends want to help!
Three words to describe life before parenthood and three to describe life post-parenthood?
Before: Free time, Frivolous spending, Spontaneous trips. After: THE, BEST, ADVENTURE.
What is the one piece of advice you'd like to offer new parents or parents-to-be?
Don’t forget to take care of yourself. Your entire life revolves around your newborn, and that can be overwhelming- it’s okay to take time for yourself (even if it’s just a moment).Do what works for you!
